Under Contract

We had some work we wanted done before we would consider living in the house. Foremost were some really big trees that towered over the house. The trees were within 6 feet of the house and we didn't think it would be too safe living under their branches with hurricane season coming soon.


The contractor is currently removing the trees which were really old. Joe counted the rings of one before the stump was removed and it was a little over 150 years old. We felt a little bad for removing such an old tree! But with the house so close we didn't feel like we had much of a choice. Fortunately, there are a lot of other trees that will stay on the lot and hopefully thrive without the competition!
This picture was taken in the evening and it's hard to see but the two big trees are limb-less and the trunks are scheduled to be removed the following day.

Walking! (Almost....) Joseph wasn't very happy that we wanted him to perform for us, but he's walking with the help of his trusty firetruck Grandma and Grandpa got him for Christmas. He can get almost anywhere with the help of his truck!

Pavers are nearly complete!

All that's left are some edges that need to be cleaned up...but first we have to figure out what the deck around the pool is going to do...and the path to the carport...



Otherwise, the pavers are done.



Except to seal them, to keep them looking new and nice for years to come.

The END is near...

Well, I think that the end of our project is in sight. Once the pavers are all in place the project should move right along.

This morning we're finishing up the last of the sidewalk!
